Hundreds of years ago, Hawaiians discovered that, when the shell of the Kukui
nut was removed ant the kernels lightly roasted, that a clear oil could be
pressed out. They found a wide variety of uses for this unique oil. Externally
Kukui Nut Oil was discovered to be an excellent penetrating oil and was smoothed
on the skin to soothe and soften dry skin. It also aided in healing sunburns and
irritations, cuts & scrapes. The oil was also applied to the hair as a
moisturizer that produced shiny, soft, gleaming results. The penetrating
characteristics of Kukui nut oil is due to its very low molecular weight , one

cap over the hair, then the pink liner and finally the heat
cap on top. This isolates the Heat Cap form any "mess".
Processing caps may be put through the clothes washer several
times before discarding. (They do not survive the clothes
dryer.)
